The healthcare fix promised by Obama
appears dead — killed by a thousand cuts.
Has the president’s obsession with being
bipartisan left the rest of us behind?

It looks like the medical mafia will get
a bigger bailout than the major banks —
and neither insurance companies nor
drug makers even got their feet wet.

With no public option to keep anyone
honest, and no price negotiation to threaten
pharmaceutical profits, we’ll have to buy
expensive private insurance for everyone.

We voted for change because it sounded
like we would get a new kind of government.
Maybe all Obama had in mind was giving us
a few coins back for the same shoddy service.
