I don’t support everything
Obama does or doesn’t do,
but I admire his speaking ability.
He employed it with care and clarity
when he said “…the Cambridge police
acted stupidly in arresting somebody
when there was already proof
that they were in their own home.”

That doesn’t imply they are stupid
or act stupidly all the time. It means
they made a stupid mistake this one time.

One could also say with equal
care and clarity that the president
acted stupidly if he expected
the press to understand plain English
when misunderstanding
would make a better story.
