Why can’t politicians alarmed
about elections just held in Iran
show interest in what happens here?

Our country is hardly qualified
to teach the art of selecting leaders,
by casting or counting votes.

We allocate voting machines by race,
save absentee ballots ‘til needed,
and often let courts make the final choice.

Perhaps the reason for so much concern
about riots in Iranian streets
is fear that our people will get ideas.
