He probably never visited a nursing home
or saw folks who don’t know where they are,
much less when or where they were born,
who will be expected to produce proof
of citizenship tomorrow or lose their care.

Chances are he just saw an opportunity
to save another buck to pass on in tax cuts,
and didn’t think about the consequences.
