We ask the National Guard to do so much
it doesn’t seem fair to send them up in a
dangerous trial balloon to help Bush push
his amnesty program for illegal immigrants.

Unless we’re prepared to shoot people who
try to sneak into this country, soldiers are
not the best choice for guarding borders.
We need a larger appropriate police force.

That, a fence, and enforcing laws against
hiring illegal aliens would help stop the flow.
Then Bush can let a future president deal with
the leftovers – along with getting out of Iraq.
