The President asserts telling the world
he taps phones was a terrible crime.
It endangers national security, of course,
so he put Justice on the trail of the leaker.

Everyone knows he can get a legal warrant
to eavesdrop on any call, but couldn’t be
bothered to tell a court – even after the fact.
Any investigation should start with him.

That would be a fitting end to a terrible year.
