They object to politicians
getting involved in commerce.
Our representatives object to
foreign governments owning
American energy companies.
The Bush administration objects
to making China mad. They
fervently pray the deal goes away.

We can’t ask nominees how they might decide.
But can’t we ask them to confide what’s already

The Magic of Money

Bush promised more aid for Africa,
let’s hope it’s as effective as his
anti-AIDS program. It works miracles.
According to a news release
citing their accomplishments,
32,839 AIDS patients in Botswana
were receiving life-extending treatment
with the help of the U.S. government
before any money got there. Officials
there said the number was really zero,
