Last Saturday Bush addressed his problem with the polls.
People may not like it, but he will slog on and win this war.
He’s proud of the new Iraqi government’s progress, but
didn’t mention that they traded voting for consensus.

If he studied history he would know consensus would
have done this nation in if the group assigned to modify
the articles of confederation hadn’t disobeyed orders and
written a constitution to be adopted by a majority vote.

He would also know we spent many years and tens of
thousands of lives promising “We will settle for nothing
less than victory� in Viet Nam. This war is different, but
the lack of a definition or a plan for victory is the same.
