Symbolism

Saffron gates took over the park like
rigid voters took over the nation.
They just stand and wave. Wave at what?

I think they wave goodbye to wealth,
trade, jobs, clean air, security — things
we want for our children and grandchildren.

The gates will disappear in two weeks,
but at the rate he ravages, our president
will finish before we forget them.

One Response to “Symbolism”

Ken — Great Job. I also enjoyed Sue’s comments. Of all of them I like the comparison between the safron gates and Bush’s presidency. Sadly, he also had thousands of volunteers helping him. The artist at least has vision — Bush not – or if he does it’s too scary to contemplate. Keep up the politry.
